[#Maldives] Trip Report : JAN.18 – 24, 2020, #Male – #Ari – #Vaavu Trip Vol.3

Day 5, the last day for diving started with the 1st dive at Fesdhoo Wreck in the North Ari atoll. The wind was a bit strong on the surface but it was unexpectedly mellow current waited for us underwater. We enjoyed to see big sea fans and a big school of Luminous Cardinalfish around the wreck. We even found a pink Commerson’s Frogfish hidden at the side of the wreck. In the sand area, we saw Aurora Partner Gobbies and Dracula Shrimp Gobbies opening and closing their mouths. So cute! The 2nd dive was at Fish Head, which was one of the best diving spots in terms of the numbers of the fish in Maldives. Indeed, huge numbers of Yellowback Fusiliers, Variablelined Fusiliers, Neon Fusiliers were there getting attacked by Dogtooth Tunas and Bluefin Tunas. The big wall made by False Moorish Idols impressed us very well. On the top of the reef, we saw the act of courtship of a couple of Octopuses by changing its color. The 3rd dive was already the last dive of this trip at Maaya Thila. The obstacles of a bit strong current and a relatively poor visibility, we saw somehow Grey Reef Shark at their cleaning station but not clearly. Instead, we clearly and closely saw the schools of False Moorish Idols and Black Pyramid Butterfly in the middle layer. After wandering along with the reef and overhangs, we found a Hawksbill Turtle eating snacks at the top of the reef. He totally ignored us and kept on eating! Lastly, a Napoleonfish appeared and said good bye to us! Thanks! The water temperature was 26-31 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. The visibility was 10-30 meters. Thank you all for joining us and also for making this trip wonderful! Hope to see you all again!
