[Maldives] Trip Report : MAR.2 – 9, 2019, Deep South Equatorial Route from GAAFU to MALE Vol.1

[#Maldives] Trip Report : MAR.2 – 9, 2019, Deep South #Equatorial Route from #GAAFU to #MALE Vol.1

We are on the special route number 4! It’s an irregular trip went through from #Gaafu to #Male including #Laamu, #Thaa, #Meemu and #Vaavu atolls!

The day 1,we dove at Kaadeedhdhoo Reef in the Gaafu Atoll. It was an easy check dive near the airport island.  A Spotted Eagle Ray, Napoleon and Dogtooth Tunas were seen. We normally see Sea Goldies and Flame Anthias during the regular courses,  but here, near the Equator, there more Evansi Anthias were seen. So you see more orange color up in Northern Maldives and more color of violet in the Southern Maldives. Very interesting!  Since the skill of the guests were excellent and there was a strong request from all the guests, we decided to go South and dive at #Fuvahmulah for the next day! Yay! I was so excited that we’ve got to go over the Equator one more time!

The day 2, we had 3 tanks of diving at Fuvahmulah! The Dogtooth Tunas, Great Barracudas, Grey Reef Sharks and Silvertip Sharks were everywhere! Then, we found the pattern of tiger! Yes, it was the Tiger Shark! We could see it very closely. Even 4-5 of Pelagic Threshers were seen in the deep side. This point has never disappointed us! The 4th dive of the day was at Tiger Reef. We could see three of Tiger Sharks near the reef. I love it here! The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 26-28 deg.C. The 3 mm wetsuit was recommended. To be continued…
