[#Mexico] Trip Report : SEP. 15-21, 2018, Sea of #Cortez Route Vol.2

The day 3 started at Fang Ming wreck for the 1st dive of the day. I had to check up on the three Giant Jawfish juveniles here. They have thrived little by little. Sooner they will start showing their imposing figures but they are still shy in the nest at this moment. The 2nd dive of the day was at C-59, another wreck, bigger than Fang Ming. There was a big school of Snappers around the wreck. Plus, Blue and Yellow Chromises’ juveniles were seen. The 3rd dive of the day was at Whale Island, which was an island shaped like a Whale. There is a beautiful cave and a air pocket on the top, which we can show our face above the surface. We can also enjoy some swim through here. An underwater light may help you to observe well in the dark. The 4th dive of the day was Night Mobula! We could see more than a hundred of Mobulas! However, my favorite was a Porcupinefish tossed up and down by the Mobulas in the middle.

The day 4, the weather was not great because of the storm. We had to go with plan B, diving with the area relatively not affected by the weather. The 1st dive of the day was at Isla Partida. Right after the entry, we found about 3 dozens of Golden Cownose Rays at the drop off!  We could not follow them as they went to deep down. The 2nd dive was at Punta Candelero, which had beautiful black corals. We found a Diamond Stingray at the sand area as well. The 3rd dive was at Punta Sur. We successfully spotted Gulf Signal Blennies as per guests’ request! Besides, we found a colony of Bluespotted Jawfish! The 4th dive was Night Mobula again! Two night in a row! And again, we made it with more than a hundred of them! The water temperature was around 26-30 deg.C. To be continued…
