[#Maldives] Trip Report : AUG.24 – 30, 2019, #Male – #Baa Route Vol.1

Hello, It is Keita again! Here is the latest trip report.  The 1st dive was at Lankan Reef in the North Male atoll as a check dive.  Although there was some surge to fight against in the water but we were welcomed by a school of Teira Batfish. And a couple of Manta Rays appeared finally at the end. The 2nd dive was at Finger Point. Grey Reef Sharks and Whitetip Sharks were everywhere!  The visibility was great! Besides, more than three dozens of Spotted Eagle Rays showed up! Wow!  After the dive we celebrated one of our guests birthday! It was such an honor to celebrate!

Day 2, we had the 1st dive at Dhonfanu Thila in the Baa Atoll.  There were many Neon Fusiliers at the spot where the currents met. The blue color of them popped up whenever they moved as a group. The Maldive Anemonefish were doing well as usual. The 2nd dive of the day was at Dharavandhoo Thila. At first, we enjoyed observing the wall of Variablelined Fusiliers and the hunters of Giant Trevallies and Bluefin Trevallies. Then, observed cute gobbies next. Variety of Gobbies such as Fire Gobbies and Aurora Partner Gobbies. The 3rd dive was at Dharavandhoo Corner aiming for the encounter with Manta.  Unfortunately we could not see them but the Oriental Sweetlips were there at the cleaning station, getting cleaned. The 4th dive was a night dive at Kihaadhoofaru Thila. The soft corals densely growing at the overhang were so beautiful to see with the light. Rock Cleaner-Shrimps were easily found in the little holes on the rocks. Plus, sleeping Parrotfish, hopefully we didn’t wake you up, and weird moves of Blackspotted Puffers and Black-Blotched Porcupinefish were seen as well. The air temperature was 26-31 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. The 3mm or 5 mm wetsuit was recommended. The visibility was 10-30m.  To be continued…
